Calyxta Cuts: Get the Pageant Look

We’re just a few beauty sleeps away from the biggest and most prestigious pageant event of 2017. I’m sure you’re all as excited as we are here at the Calyxta HQ! And as a way to embrace all the glam and glitz coming our way, here’s our take on a stunningly elegant pageant look with the help of our very own Calyxta crew member, Marj Maroket – together with Krystle Dizon, former Miss Philippines Air 2007, they recreated a look that can surely bring home the crown!

1. We begin with applying the foundation that offers full coverage. Pia Wurtzbach’s foundation secret when it comes to pageant makeup is to get a shade darker than the natural skin tone. It helps a lot especially with all the harsh lights on stage.

2. Then, hide dark circles with a trusty concealer. Lightly bake the under eye area with translucent loose powder. To ensure creaseless and flawless finish, let it set for a bit before brushing it off.

3. Use contour stick to define the features. Gently line the forehead, temples, and right below the cheekbones with the contour stick and blend it out with a sponge. Either a cream or liquid contour will give a more natural finish!

4. For Krystle’s morena skin to stand out, we add some bronzer to her face.

5. Then, apply the blush right above the contoured area. Don’t smack the blush in the middle of your cheeks since this doesn’t look good for stage makeup says Queen Pia

6. And of course, the highlighter! This one is the most important step for Pia because this makes sure a fresh and glowing look on stage.

7. For the eyes, Pia stays away from the black or grey shades. So stick to browns for a more natural look, and darken it a bit using reddish tones to give the crease and upper lash line more depth.

8. Apply the black eyeliner to the upper lash line to make the eyes appear fuller.

9. On to the lashes! Falsies play a huge role on but Pia suggests to keep from using thick looking or plastic ones. Opt for the more natural looking If you aim for thicker lashes then stack on the natural-looking ones on top of each other.

10. So, it stays longer, line your lips with a pinkish nude lip liner before coloring the entire lip with a pinkish brown lipstick. Add some shiny gloss at the center to make the lips look fuller!
