Hannah Pangilinan and Janina Vela: Pop of Color

Youth is a time to take risks and try out new things like taking that dance class despite having two left feet, asking out your long-time crush on a date, or maybe even trying out an unconventional makeup look! Who better to sport the unconventional makeup look than teen queens, Hannah Pangilinan andĀ Janina Vela, our October Calyxta Girls! Today’s makeup look is definitely not the usual everyday look of our cover girls, but its bright pop of color draws you in almost instantly. Pro tip for this look—try switching over the red and green liners with your favorite color instead!

To get Hannah’s stunning red liner look, follow our steps below:

Create a polished base by smoothing on The Ordinary High-Adherence SiliconeĀ Primer 30ml all over your face, focusing on the T-zone area. Apply with your fingertips or a brush.

With youthful skin like yours, it’d be a shame to cover all of it up! Remember—foundation is used to be enhance your natural skin and not covering it up entirely. Reach for a sheer but matte formula for your foundation like W7 Genius Foundation. Apply the foundation with a damp BeautyBlender or a Stippling Brush to create a natural-looking base.

Dab on and blend the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser on the undereye area to create a brightening effect! This will make your eyes look more awake despite the many hours of you staying up late to catch up on your favorite TV shows (and maybe talking to your crush? Wink, wink!)

Select a baby pink shade to color up your cheeks. This will give you that sweet and youthful girl-next-door vibe! Tap on the Milani Rose Powder BlushĀ in Tea Rose with your fingertips or a brush.

Brush a little bit of the Prettify Mineral Face Powder with SunscreenĀ translucent powder on the T-zone area to keep oil at bay.

Fill in brows with a powder to create a soft and natural brow look. Use an angled eyebrow brush with the Royal Beaute Tri-Color Eyebrow Cake (Charcoal Brown) to color your brows.

Hannah has on a sparkly eye with a sharp red liner that brings all the attention to her eyes. Since sparkle shadows have the tendency of getting everywhere if we aren’t precise with the application, start everything off with an eyeshadow primer to make sure your eyeshadow stays in place all day. Take a little bit of Detail Makeover Eyeshadow Primer in Skintone and spread it around the eye area.

Curl your lashes and apply a generous amount of Maybelline Volum’ ExpressĀ Magnum Big Shot Mascara on your lashes. This will really make sure your eyes pop up even more!

That bright pop of red is a major key to the entire look! If you don’t have a red pen with you, fear not because we have a quick DIY tip! Take a matte and long-lasting liquid lipstick like the Maybelline Superstay Matte InkĀ Un-Nude Liquid Lipstick in Ruler. With an angled eyeliner brush, take a small amount and apply like a usual liner, extending up to the tail to create a perfect wing. Let dry, and now the eye look is complete!

You don’t want to overpower the eye look with another bright element so for the lips, reach for a nude lipstick to cap everything off! Use Pop BeautyĀ Matte Velvet Lipstick in Novel Nude all over the lips.

Keep skin looking smooth like a baby’s by applying primer before anything else! Smooth on a generous amount of Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Smoother 22ml with your fingertips or a brush!

Apply a matte foundation as base for your makeup. Use a damp sponge for a satin skin-like finish. Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation works to keep pores and oil under wraps all day long without looking cakey!

Brighten up the undereye area with the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Try going for a shade lighter than your natural shade to create that luminous look!

To make sure nothing budges throughout the day, apply a powder to seal everything! Sweep on the Maybelline Fit Me Powder with a brush over oily areas. Remember not to cake on too much or else your makeup will turn into an overly matte mess!

Look like you’re sporting a natural flush by reaching for a peach shade for your cheeks! Swirl your brush in the Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Contour Blush in Peach and gently sweep on the color on the apples of your cheeks.

Doing your brows for the first time might be an extremely intimidating task but don’t you worry because we have a secret to achieving easy but polished brows! Reach for the Maybelline Brow Tattoo Gel Tint and with the brush, carefully draw an outline of your brows and fill in with the gel. You can proceed with the rest of your makeup steps while waiting for it to set and dry. Once it has fully dried, carefully peel off starting from the tips of the eyebrow tail.

For your eyes, prep by applying your face powder over the lids to make sure no colors budge throughout the day. Reach for an eye palette that contains a shadow with a bright emerald shade. With a slightly damp angled eyeliner brush, take the emerald shade and apply like you would an eyeliner.

Curl your lashes to get them ready for mascara. Apply Maybelline The FalsiesĀ Push Up Angel Waterproof Mascara to lengthen and add volume to your lashes, just like you’re wearing falsies!

You want to keep the rest of the look muted and softer since the eyes are the focal point of the look. Switch your usual pinks for something more nude in color. Sweep on Maybelline Color Sensational Powder Mattes Lipstick all over the lips and now your look is complete!
