French Allure

French beauty is all about that minimalistic charm. On Vogue.com’s feature of Paris-based editorial makeup artist, Violette, she says that French women treat their “base” as best as they can so that they would have amazing skin, amazing body, and amazing hair — and then they wouldn’t have to do much else.

This week, our Calyxta jet-setter, Jess Wilson, slays the mussed-up hair matched with her Zooey Deschanel fringe and “barely there” makeup game.

Follow these quick steps to get the look:

1) Having great skin is always the key to any look. Try a primer that doubles as a moisturizer just like the GLOSSIER PRIMING MOISTURIZER, P1,850. It’s a light cream that gives buildable moisture for a dewy, smooth canvas.

2) Don’t go heavy on the foundation to maintain a “no makeup makeup” finish. Try applying a thin layer of the newly-launched MAYBELLINE FIT ME MATTE + PORELESS FOUNDATION, P399.

3) For that added brightening effect to help conceal dark circles and other blemishes, apply some of the MILANI RETOUCH + ERASE LIGHT-LIFTING CONCEALER, P700.

4) Make sure to set it right with the INNISFREE NO SEBUM MINERAL PACT, P659. Great for oil-control that leaves your face feeling soft and fresh.

5) Dab on some of L’OREAL PARIS’ LUCENT CUSHION BLUSH, P900, to add some flush to those cheeks and give it a rosy glow.

6) Lightly fill in your brows with the MISSHA COLOR SETTING BROWCARA, P390, for a soft and natural finish.

7) Go for a fine-tip liquid eyeliner that gives the sharpest and most precise flick such as the MAYBELLINE HYPERSHARP LINER LASER, P299. Its waterproof formula is sure to keep you safe from panda eyes!

8) Apply the MAYBELLINE LASH SENSATIONAL BIG EYES BLOOM MASCARA, P349, to instantly make your eyes look larger and more awake.

9) Go nude on the lips with OFRA LONG LASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK in Manila, P850. It’s the newest nude lippie for every Filipina!

10) Lastly, spray on some of the TONI&GUY HAIR STYLING CASUAL FLEXIBLE HOLD SPRAY, P870, (now only P435!) for a lightweight hold to make sure your mussed-up hair stays in place the whole day while keeping its natural movement.
