By: Amanda Padilla

Six Months Before:

  1. Invest in a good skincare system for your skin type. You will need a good facial wash, serum, moisturizer, make up remover.
  2. Meet with a dermatologist and mention your upcoming wedding. Create a plan so your skin looks its best on your wedding day. Include regular monthly facials and look into treatments like microdermabrasion.
  3. Start exercising regularly.

Five Months Before:

  1. Book your hair and make up artist. Show photos of hair and make up looks that you have in mind for the wedding so they have an idea of your aesthetic and vision.
  2. If you wanted to try a new haircut or color now is the time to do it. You don’t need to deviate too much from your regular look, you still want to look like yourself on your wedding. Subtle highlights are a good idea if you were planning to have your hair up for the wedding–it’ll give your hair more dimension.

Three Months Before:

  1. Give yourself regular weekly home facials. Include a clay mask to draw impurities from the skin, a fabric mask to hydrate and a gentle facial scrub.
  2. Have your brows professionally groomed. Make a standing monthly appointment with them until the day of your wedding.
  3. Give up fast food.

Three Weeks Before:

  1. Get a trim and a color retouch.

One Week Before:

  1. Get your last facial from the derma. You don’t want to do this too close to the wedding day because of breakouts that might happen.
  2. Stop eating salt, sugar, carbs and alcohol to minimize puffiness in the face.

Three Days Before:

  1. Get a leg, upper lip, underarm and bikini wax.
  2. Have your brows groomed.

Night Before:

  1. Get a manicure and pedicure. If you get a gel mani-pedi you could do this a couple of days before the wedding.
  2. Wash your hair the day before the wedding, your hairstylist would prefer that you have dry hair when he or she arrives. Skip the conditioner, it’ll help your hairstyle stay in place longer.
  3. Exfoliate your face and body with your favorite scrub.
  4. Get a massage and sleep early.

On the big day:

  1. Have your make up artist and hairstylist come at least 3 hours before the time you are needed for photos.
  2. Do a last minute make up retouch 15 minutes before heading out the door.
