Hair Trend Anyone Can Try

By: Amanda Padilla

I noticed it on social media a few months ago. One by one, the ‘it’ girls, who would only be seen with long, perfect, Victoria’s Secret-esque hair seemed to be chopping their locks off in favor of the Lob.
Now, we are all familiar with the bob, which I might mention is not the easiest style to pull off. Simply put, a Lob is a ‘long bob’, but it is so much more than this. It is a cute, updated, easy-going hairstyle that looks great on everyone- young or not, straight or curly hair, and it works with any face shape. It’s a modern look that isn’t too trendy, so there won’t be that what-was-I-thinking moment when you look at your photos five years from now.
Basically, a Lob is a blunt haircut that goes a little past your shoulders and has long layers to add texture. It is a tiny bit longer around the face. Some of the best Lobs out there have been seen on Kim Kardashian, Olivia Palermo and Taylor Swift.
The best way to style a Lob is to put a bit of mousse and sea salt spray on wet hair and let it air dry — you want it to look piece-y and textured. This look is as stylish as it is low maintenance! A flat iron is a good tool to invest in if you want to change up your look. The Lob looks great with beach waves which can easily be made by a flat iron. You could also use the iron to give your Lob a straight and sleek look.
2015 hair trends lean towards looks that seem effortless, so it makes total sense that the Lob looks best with my other favorite hair trend, bronde, a lived-in brown blonde.
