• Take a breather. Do something that makes you relax like a gentle yoga class. Treat yourself to a massage or get a spa facial.
• Tea Time. Tea, especially green tea, is packed with anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce redness and blotchiness from the skin. The ritual of preparing a cup can be calming as well.
• Skin Care. Use face creams and moisturizers that soothe and calm skin. Products that contain oatmeal, almond oil, shea butter are extremely hydrating and work wonders on angry skin. Try a little aromatherapy by using products with green tea and tea tree oil.
• Bring back the glow. If your skin looks dull and puffy, try reducing salt intake and drink lots of water. Do a facial on yourself using chilled cucumber slices all over your face and cold damp tea bags on your eyes. Leave for 15 minutes.
• Cut the red out. Reduce blotchiness by using organic skincare products that are fragrance free. Avoid toners. Switch to a gentle exfoliant that uses lactic acid, stay a way from grainy scrubs. Use products with cucumber, milk, aloe.
• Eat right. Stay away from processed food and junk food.
• All about lips. Use products like Besame Sweet Balm or Lucas Pawpaw on chapped and cracked lips. Avoid licking lips, this can cause more dryness.
• Prevent breakouts. Cleanse face before sleep and remove all traces of make up. Moisturize right after to restore natural moisture of skin. This prevents the oil glands in the skin from going on oil production overdrive because skin is well hydrated.
• Have a home spa party. Invite a few of your girl friends and make facial masks using ingredients from your kitchen. Eggs, oatmeal, honey and avocados are extremely calming and can rejuvenate tired skin.
