Calyxta celebrates its 5th Anniversary this December, and as seen in the last cover story of actress, gemologist, and #CalxytaGirl, KC Concepcion, she wears a sapphire frock embellished with sequins to symbolize the gem that represents a truly special milestone.
As someone who has witnessed Calyxta’s birth in December 2014 (at that time, I was working as the marketing manager of four beauty brands, which partnered with and were available on Calyxta) to finally joining them full-time as their Managing Editor in July 2017, I’ve watched and experienced her evolve regardless of all the obstacles and challenges thrown her way. Despite everything, Calyxta stayed resilient. And it is in this resilience that we find the inspiration to continue empowering, enriching, and enabling Filipinas—-through the helpful content we share and the cult-favorite products we make easily available.
But we at Calyxta have always felt like wanting to do more. While helping women build confidence and giving them the power to express themselves have always been at the core of what we do, we felt like it was also about time we gave back to society in more ways than one—-which is why starting this month, Calyxta will be partnering with organizations that similarly empower, enrich, and enable women.
To jumpstart this initiative is our Calyxta Anniversary Sale, where a portion of our sales will be donated to help the girls of New Beginnings. New Beginnings is a program under CRIBS Foundation that focuses on the healing and recovery of sexually abused female minors aged 7 to 17 years old. Their services include home life, formal education, adjunctive therapy, individual and group counselling, basic health services, family counselling, and after care services. They provide protective custody and healing intervention programs, and work toward the reintegration of the children with their families, if possible, and society in general.
Another part of our celebration is building a community of strong women who share our values and philosophies, where together, we can continue to empower, enrich, and enable others.
