Big in Beauty: Hot Beauty Trends to Watch Out For

The hot trend in beauty: extremely long-wearing and beauty-enhancing products to simplify (and speed up) your daily routine.

7-Week Hair Color

Unicorn or pastel hair has been all the rage lately but who has the time (and money!) to visit the salon to get the deed done? If you’re craving for a new look but aren’t keen on investing in anything permanent, try out these new temporary color treatments from April Skin, which deposit color pigments to your locks but fade away after a week or so. Make sure though that your hair is on the healthy side—damaged or extremely processed hair tends to absorb the pigments in a rather aggressive manner, so it would be best to test the product on a section first before committing to it entirely.

Brows On-Fleek for a Week

K-Palette, Etude House, and Maybelline recently launched their respectiv brow tints which promise to leave a long-lasting stain on your arches so that they appear fuller and “done” all day—even after you’ve cleansed your face! To apply, make sure brows are clean and stripped of any oil, then paint on a thick coat over your brows, making sure to stay within the borders. Leave the tint to dry for two full hours, then peel it off.

Magnetic Lashes

If you’re non-committal about lashes and refuse to have lash extensions done, but also don’t have the mad skills or time to attach false eyelashes, lo and behold, a woman named Katy Stoka of One Two Cosmetics has finally created the most amazing product: magnetic lashes!

How it works: the secret is its patented micro-magnetic technology, which lets you have long and lush lashes in seconds. Just sandwich each magnetic lash strip between your own natural lashes-you’ll feel them click into place, and they’ll be secure the entire day.

Removing them is just as easy: use your thumb and forefinger to slide the magnetic strips apart. Remember, the lashes should never be pulled off the eyes.

Lip Oils

Tinted lip balms and lip glosses have morphed into one fantastic product: the lip oil. Part skin care, and part makeup, these lip oils manage to care for dry lips while providing a veil of color. These oils are a remarkable improvement from lip glosses because they finally aren’t sticky, and won’t make your partner think twice about locking lips with you.
