Your Guide to the Different Types of Body Scrubs

If cleanliness is next to godliness, then where does exfoliation lie? I consider exfoliation like a confession of sins—a ritual you need to do regularly to ensure that you are cleansed, purified, and ready to receive good things.

Normally, exfoliation isn’t something that should be done daily, otherwise you’ll be left dried and withered—and sad. The exfoliation process varies per skin type and requires a different product and process per body part (e.g. you wouldn’t scrub your lips in the same intensity as you would the soles of your feet!). Below, you’ll find a list of exfoliators as per body part’s need:

FACE St. Ives Face Scrub – Blackhead Clearing Green Tea

Always remember that the purpose of exfoliation is to rid your skin of dead skin cells, dirt, and debris. It’s not to wipe out your face altogether, which is why choosing a “gentle” exfoliator is key. St. Ives uses green tea which soothes and calms the skin, as it gently fights blemishes that cause all the bad stuff.

As this is made of natural sugars, don’t be tempted to eat this exfoliator! Nothing can be more unsightly than chapped lips and it’s honestly annoying to apply lip color on unhealthy, peeling lips, so remember to exfoliate your lips regularly.

Titas like me can’t say no to a body scrub and this is ideal. Lavender, especially, is known to really calm the mind, body, and soul. Ohmmm.

Can’t say no to a body scrub that not only brightens and protects skin, but is also sweet-smelling! Use a loofa to carefully exfoliate your arms as you bathe.

Cellulite is inevitable in this sinful life, so we can only be thankful for this hardworking coffee scrub which also helps improve blood circulation and reduce cellulite! Use it on your legs to exfoliate your skin.

Apparently, our mothers were right when they said oatmeal is good for the body—literally. This scrub combines oatmeal and goat’s milk to help whiten dark areas, hydrate the skin, and exfoliate. Best used on your toughest-to-scrub areas, like your elbows and knees, and the soles of your feet.
