Calyxta’s Top K-Beauty Products for 2018

Presenting—five K-Beauty products that made it to Calyxta’s best list this year! Here’s a quick rundown on the reason behind all the product raves, including skin care tips that we’ve learned from the ever-youthful K-Stars themselves.

K-Star Tip: When it comes to annoying pimples that show up right before important events, model and style star, Irene Kim, recommends a hot shower before applying anything onto it, to open up the pores and better receive healing ingredients.

Global Love: It’s an overnight fixer that saves your face from erupting breakouts. The differently-sized patches can remove infection and bacteria, flatten and heal cystic acne and picked zits, absorb excess grease from whiteheads, and breakdown dirt from blackheads.

K-Star Tip: Try washing for a good two minutes. Korean idol and actress Bae Suzy’s cleansing style is called the 424 method: 4 minutes of rubbing cleansing oil to remove makeup, 2 minutes with a cleanser, and another 4 minutes for rinsing with water.

Global Love: The supremely gentle formula allows a thorough cleanse that doesn’t dry out skin. With a healthy pH level of 5, it soothes, cleanses, exfoliates, and hydrates—all at the same time!

K-Star Tip: Former Girls Generation member and now fashion entrepreneur, Jessica Jung, says that after applying a product, add warmth to your face by rubbing your palms together and holding them close to your face (without touching the skin!). This method slightly opens up your pores and makes it absorb products better.

Global Love: This product has quickly become a cult-favorite. It contains 5% Vitamin C, an anti-oxidant for anti-aging and brightening skin. And the best part? It’s fragrance-free, safe to use for sensitive skin, and has a healthy pH level of only 3.81.

K-Star Tip: 33-year-old actress, Yoon Eun-hye, focuses a lot on pore care. After a mask, she massages toner-soaked cotton pads on her skin as a way to minimize the appearance of pores.

Global Love: It is sebum-absorbing, refreshing on the skin, washes away pore-clogging impurities, contracts pores, moisturizes the skin, and leaves it even clearer! What’s not to love, right? It’s also recommended as a PMS treatment, for when your skin gets too oily.

K-Star Tip: Running Man regular and actress-model, Song Ji hyo, admits to being low-key when it comes to skin care. Her ultimate tips? Sleep a lot and focus a lot on the cleansing part!

Global Love: The new and improved cleanser is infused with papaya extract and the Vitamin C-rich acerola extract, plus Vitamin E acetate—making it perfect for all skin types.
