W7’s Night Glow Highlighter & Illuminator Review

Don’t be fooled, this isn’t nail polish—it’s W7’s Night Glow Highlighter & Illuminator, a personal top shelf favorite!

BUT FIRST, A BACK STORY

The first time I heard about highlighters (the makeup, I mean) was in college. Around that time I thought I was too young to wear a full-on blush on my cheeks, but already at the self-conscious age when I had the desire to look pretty and wanted a natural flush.  So let’s say it was around this time, too, that I deemed highlighters (the school supply) a must-have not only in my pencil case, but in my makeup kit, too.

PROS AND CONS OF THE HIGHLIGHTER

I honestly cannot think of a con because I’m naturally inclined to think of the bright side of life, so here are all the pros:

  • The Night Glow instantly made me look like
  1. I’m happy,
  2. I’m contented, and
  3. I’m angelic with a good heart. This is important because I admit I’m not a superwoman who feels perfectly fine all day, every day—so a face illuminator definitely comes in handy!
  • I tried to make all these tita-esque judge-y, condescending, fake-smiling faces, but I believe I still look like I have a “pleasing personality”:

Left: it’s the face you make when you’re doubtful and unconvinced; Right: when you’re trying to be polite but really are internally aghast or in disbelief.

  • I thought the Night Glow definitely gave my cheeks a lift, attracted and reflected light wonderfully, and made me look fresh like a grade-schooler with only homework to worry about!
  • I like how it subtly defines my cheekbones, despite not contouring.
  • The liquid formula is lightweight enough to wear in this weather.

THE VERDICT

So I learned in every product review that there must be a verdict so here it is.

I honestly love how it is quietly hard-working (like you and me). The shimmer and shine isn’t blatant and in-your-face, so it really does look like I’ve simply completed my eight hours of sleep and have eaten my veggies. For me, the product delivers a nice, even application and use is effortless.
