Pink Sugar Creamy Matte Lipstick Review

Mattes have made a huge comeback in the past couple of years. The trend du jour in the ‘90s, they’re now more creamy and moisturizing—definitely a lip look you and your lips will love. However, not all matte lippies are created equal. Today, we’ll be putting Pink Sugar’s Creamy Matte in Breakfast in Bed, P349, to the test to see if, as the name implies, it’s a matte that’s kinder – and more hydrating – to your pout.

Packaging

The lipstick comes in a straightforward twist type of casing. The cap is easy to remove—no struggles there, and the lipstick is encased in a mirror-like material which can come in handy if you need to check if you’ve applied your lipstick well.

Swatching

It’s always interesting to see how a makeup hue looks with or without flash. Here you’ll notice that without flash (with just some available light), this particular shade, Breakfast in Bed, looks a bit like a dusty rose. With flash, the color quickly turns into a more orchid pink. Both colors look great so either way, you’ve got yourself a winner.

The Verdict

This one is definitely a keeper. In a world where most matte lippies feel heavy on your lips or leave your pout feeling dry and chapped, this highly pigmented one gives you the best of both worlds. It has the look of matte yet it sits comfortably on your lips. Armed with Vitamin E and Shea Butter, it’s a lipstick you won’t mind wearing the entire day.
