- The center part is probably the biggest hair trend this year. It doesn’t matter if you wear your tresses curly, wavy, straight, sleek, messy, or even up. The update is hair that’s parted right down the middle, so get the parting started.
- Top knots are out, low buns are in! Knotted twists and center-parted low buns replace the messy top knot craze for 2016.
- Accessorized. Yup you read it! It’s time to whip out anything bejeweled, shiny, shimmery and splendid, headbands, barettes, clips with beads. The more ornate and girly the better! Think Great Gatsby meets the modern tomboy.
- Bangs. Eyebrow-grazing or even eyelid-grazing brings your look to the current times.
- Tight braids are in, loose bohemian braids are out! Infuse tightly-braided strands into long straight hair all over, (middle parted) to channel a sleeker flower child. Or gather hair into a low middle-parted ponytail and tightly braid the tail. If your gutsy, cornrows are this years faux-hawk. Update by gathering the rest of the hair into a high ponytail or tight bun.
- Iconic. Carmen Miranda and Frida Kahlo inspired. But before you reach for the fruit basket or that ornate flower crown, make sure you have the bushy brushed up eyebrows that go with the look. Sparse and drawn brows do not go with this hair trend.
