One of the most intimidating things for the average person new to the make up game is contouring, yet it seems like people’s obsession with this beauty trend won’t be dying any time soon. If anything, the fascination for contouring and highlighting that are on fleek seems to be getting stronger by the day, thanks to the influence of A‐list celebrities and their on‐point selfies on social media—most notably the Kardashian women, who have actually just launched their own contour palettes, banking on the influence their make up looks have on the beauty industry.
Like most things, this trend has quickly trickled down to the welcoming social media‐savvy arms of Filipina women, who have embraced it wholeheartedly. But let’s be real: most quality contour kits are not friendly to the pocket, making the whole trial‐and‐error part even more terrifying than it should be. Luckily, a new set of products have been developed to help make achieving sharper features an easy and affordable task.
On July 13 at The Brewery at The Palace, Maybelline New York, in partnership with Calyxta.com, held Contour Jungle, an event introducing Maybelline New York’s new line of contour products: V‐Face Contour by FACE STUDIO. The program, hosted by Catriona Gray, included a workshop with Amanda Padilla on how to create killer cheekbones and a sharper nose to go with any type of look, whether it be for day or night, by using any of the three new V‐Face contour products.
Participants were able to try the products, too, with help from make up artists at the makeover booths, and got their creative juices flowing at the flatlay station. Prizes were given out to two lucky winners who posted their flatlays on Instagram, with the hashtags #EasyContouring and #InstantSharperNose.
All guests also took home a make up bag with the complete contour kit, as well as a personalized Suesh brush with calligraphy by Reena Gabriel.
