Hannah Pangilinan and Janina Vela: Kirakira Cuties

In Japanese, kirakira means “glittering” or “shining” and it’s perfectly apt for these bright girls!

This week’s makeup look is all about using vibrant colors and cute details to create a youthful and fun look that will definitely make you go, “Kawaii!!”

Here are easy and quick steps so you, too, can be a kawaii cutie!

Before you start any makeup routine, make sure your skin is prepped and ready! Janina and Hannah keep it simple by applying just moisturizer on their skin after cleansing and before heading straight to makeup. Use the Glossier Priming Moisturizer 50ml, and apply it all over the face and neck!

If you’re prone to blemishes, we suggest sticking an acne patch on any active pimples before the makeup look. COSRX Clear Fit Master Patch disappears on the skin and under makeup, unlike other patches that might look very visible upon application.

Spray on 2 to 3 spritzes of the Pro Studio Primer Water to prime and prep skin for makeup. This is to help prolong the wear of makeup on the skin.

Keep the skin looking translucent and fresh by reaching for a BB Cream. Your youthful skin still has a lot of plumpness and bounciness, so we suggest not to reach for the heavier foundations and creams just yet. Smooth on a fair amount of the Maybelline Super BB Fresh Matte Cream on the skin with a BeautyBlender or a stippling brush and blend until it becomes just like second skin!

Conceal dark circles or blemishes with the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. Apply on areas you want to cover up, and blend with a BeautyBlender!

Tap on a bit of translucent face powder to keep makeup looking fresher, and to keep any oil at bay. Take Banila Co. Prime Primer Hydrating Finish Powder with a large powder brush and gently buff the powder into place.

You want to make sure you’re sporting a vibrant-looking flush like bright Japanese girls for this look! Take a cream blush and apply a small amount on the back of your hand. Take your fingertips and apply the blush directly on the apples of your cheeks, extending a little bit towards your ears. Blend until your desired intensity. We suggest selecting Glossier Cloud Paint in Dawn for Janina’s coral flush and Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff for Hannah’s baby pink tint.

Draw on your eyebrows with Clio Kill Brow Tinted Tattoo. Start by drawing an outline of your brows and then filling in the brows by creating natural-looking brow hairs with your pen. Brush in place with the spoolie.

For Hannah’s eye look, mix a pink and gold glitter shade and pat it all over your lid and up to your crease. Try mixing together NYX Lid Lingerie in Gold Standard and Sweet Cloud to create the perfect shimmer!

For Janina’s eye look, prep by patting on your face powder all over your eyelid. Take a matte brown shade and buff it along your crease line, and that’s it! Try using the Milani Powder Bronzer-Radiant to create the perfect defined crease.

Now for the kirakira highlight point of the makeup look! Take a black pen liner, like the Maybelline Hyper Impact Liner, and start drawing on shapes and doodles around the corner of your eyes. You can draw it in varying sizes and in different designs! Once the liner has dried, take a cotton bud or a dense brush and apply vibrant colors on top of the doodles you just did. Feel free to play around with colors and hues and between mattes and glitters. For an extra dose of kirakira cuteness, you can even place stickers or glitter around your design to make the look even more kawaii!

Curl your lashes and apply a lengthening mascara to give you that cute doe-eyed look! The Maybelline Volum’ Express Magnum Big Shot Mascara is perfect for just that.

Going for lighter pinks make the overall look feel more youthful and sweet! Hannah has on a punch pink shade, and Janina has on a coral-toned one. Select the Rivecowe Chiffon Lipstick in Light Pink to match Hannah’s sweet hue, and Rivecowe Chiffon Lipstick in Coral Pink to capture the coral that’s on Janina. Now, your look is kawaii-ly complete!
