Hannah Pangilinan and Janina Vela: Action Packed

Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, the Gen Z kids are all grown-up and are ready to take on the world. With high dreams and a determined attitude, these girls are definitely the next big thing! Today’s look is all about channeling that mature vibe without overdoing it. There’s an element of using strong and bold colors but also still keeping it young and playful.

Ready, set, and go! Get that action-packed look through our quick and simple steps:

The key to a perfect matte look is not layering on tons of makeup until you get that desired finish. If you keep piling on matte makeup on top of unprepped skin, your makeup look will just become one large flaky and dry mess! To make sure your skin can handle matte makeup, the secret is tons and tons of hydration. Slather on a good amount of moisturizer, eye cream, and lip balm so that your skin is prepped ready for the glam that’s about to come! Use the Farmstay Aloe Vera Moisture Soothing Gel as an all-around moisturizer.

Select a moisturizing primer so that your matte makeup sits comfortably on top of your skin. Don’t worry—even if it is a hydrating moisturizer, this won’t mess with the matte finish of any foundation you place on top. Apply a good amount of Glossier Priming Moisturizer 50ml on your skin.

Choose a matte foundation that fits your skin shade and blend it over your face and neck using a brush or a damp sponge. Avoid putting on too much on so that your makeup doesn’t look cakey! Maybelline Fit Matte Poreless Foundation is the perfect matte formula for all skin types. Conceal any blemishes or dark circles with a brightening concealer. Select a concealer one or two shades lighter than your own skin tone for an illuminating effect. Apply Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in an upside down triangle shape and blend out!

Sculpt and shape the dimensions of your face by contouring and highlighting. Shade in the hollows of your cheeks, temples, jawline, and the sides of your nose. Highlight the bridge of your nose, your forehead, chin, and cheekbones. NYX Cosmetics Wonder Stick Universal is the one stop product for cream contouring and highlighting. Apply to your face and blend out with a sponge.

Take a translucent powder and pack on top of your eyebags, nose bridge, and under your cheekbones. This is going to bake your makeup, making sure it lasts long. Let it sit for about 10 minutes (you can continue on to other parts of your face like eyebrows and eyes while you wait) and the heat of your skin will set your makeup in place. Dust off with a big and fluffy brush. The Banila Co Prime Primer Finish Powder is perfect for this!

Reach for a peach-toned blush to color in your cheeks. Since the rest of the look is pretty matte, go for a blush with a hint of sparkle and shimmer to balance the entire look. Easily swipe on a sparkly flush with Maybelline Master Creator Stick in Peach Babe.

Fill in brows with short and quick strokes, and make sure that you draw in your brows to a soft shape. Use Royal Beaute Tri-Color Eyebrow Cake Charcoal Brown for those feathery arches and brush out with a spoolie to blend.

For Hannah’s graphic eye look, start off by shading your eyes with a shade that matches your skin tone to conceal any veins. Select a matte orangey-brown and blend into your crease. Take the same shade and thinly apply it to the lower lash line to balance out the eye look. With a liquid eyeliner, draw a thick line on your eyes, ending with a dramatic wing at the edge. If you’re nervous about drawing a thick line all at once, try drawing the outline of how thick you want the eyeliner to be and then proceed to shade in. Feel free to play around with the thickness of your eyeliner depending on your eye shape! The Missha Style Sharp Eyeliner is an easy to use liquid liner for all beginners!

For Janina’s look, take a peachy pink shade from the Paprika Matte Shimmer Eyeshadow Palette and apply it all over the lid. Take an orange shade and blend it over your crease, blending it out to make sure it looks like a sunset haze. Take a golden shade on your finger and carefully stamp it on the middle of the pink shade over your lid. Take a black pencil liner and thinly line your upper and lower lash line. Take a clean cotton bud and gently blend it out. For an extra boost of glam, select wispy falsies like the NYX Cosmetics Wicked Lashes Jezebel and fan out towards the edge of the lashes.

Curl your lashes and apply mascara. Apply 2 to 3 coats for that real glammed up look. The Kiss Me Heroine Long Curl Mascara Advanced Film is a favorite from Japan that creates the cutest doll-eyed lashes.

For Hannah’s deep red lip, take a lip liner and outline your lips. Shade your lips in with the same lip liner and then layer a lipstick the same shade as your liner. Take a duo like the Huda Beauty Lip Contour and the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte for that bold lip look.

For Janina’s brownish nude lip, take a liquid lipstick like the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Un-Nude Liquid Lipstick in Amazonian and gently glide it over your lips. Wait for it to set and you’re ready to go!
