I’ve been hesitant towards taking oral beauty supplements since I don’t know how it’ll affect my liver. But collagen is something that I’ve always wanted to try since Asian beauty companies rave about the ingredient so much. And lucky me, Calyxta gave me Trulife Collagen drinks to try! It came in a box with 10 little bottles, and brochures about the product and its benefits. I didn’t want to bring the whole box with me because I had to commute going home, so I just packed 2 to 3 bottles in my fanny pack whenever I go home. It’s good that the bottles are tiny and tightly sealed, making it easier to carry around and consume.
The brochures said to consume 1 bottle a day, preferably at night. And that’s exactly what I did. I put the tiny bottles on my bedside table, so I wouldn’t forget to drink one before bed. The drink itself tasted like a syrupy energy drink, though the box said it should have a Tutti Frutti flavor. It wasn’t unpleasant, but it wasn’t excitingly tasty, too. It had that fruity taste though, which made me think how a vitamin-enriched beverage should taste like. I didn’t feel any different after the first night. The most obvious effect though, was that it made my pee super yellow and pungent. Which is kind of a goofy thing. Because that usually happens when I’ve drank a lot of Vitamin C or supplements.
After a few bottles, I’ve noticed that my face became kind of smoother and plump. My pores became visibly smaller and I knew it was from the collagen because I’ve been skipping out on my skin care routine during the past few days.
When I was down to my last bottle, I’ve really noticed that my skin felt smoother and softer. Though it did make me look slightly bloated, it’s nothing a little contour can’t fix. I’ve also noticed that I’ve become whiter, or maybe a little glowing. I didn’t really take photos, so I don’t have much proof, but it did make me FEEL beautiful from the inside.
THE VERDICT:
I would definitely purchase another box if I can. The past 10 days felt like a little treat for myself. Now I know why people rave about collagen. Beauty girls should add this to their daily regimen. It’s a “shot” worth taking (pun intended).
