Is it Time for a New Skin Care Routine

Here’s what I think – – your skincare routine should be something that gives you pleasure. It should be effective in making your skin look its best and feel a pampering spa treatment at the same time. If your skincare regimen is starting to feel like a chore then its best to change things up. When you savor the application of your serums and creams you are giving your skin the TLC it needs. Consider the following – – do you like how your products smell, does it feel soothing on your skin? Or does it make you sneeze and make your face itch?

Another thing to consider is your current skincare needs. What you were using on your face in high school doesn’t necessarily cut it in your 30s. When I was in my teens I was looking for skincare products that were budget friendly, and dealt with problems like acne and oiliness. Today, I’m willing to invest a little more on products that prevent signs of aging, and target skin issues like dryness and large pores. Also, cosmetic companies pour a lot of money into research and products they come out with keep improving.

If you and your skin are loving the skincare products you are using then it might be a good idea to stick to it. There’s always a little bit of a risk when you change products, especially if you have sensitive and acne-prone skin. Do your research, you can find reviews for almost everything online. Try to get samples of the products and use them for at least two weeks before deciding if you like them or not. Sometimes, when you change products it cleanses your skin by dislodging toxins and dirt to the surface causing breakouts. Give your skin time to adjust and show the benefits of the new products.
