Best Skin Care Products for Your Age

No two decades in life are the same and it’s clear that with this thinking, your skin care routine has to change as well. Here’s a guide to how you can make the most of your skin care ingredients, whether you’re in your teens, 20’s, 30’s, and 40’s.

TEENS

Calyxta recommends: HUMAN NATURE ACNE DEFENSE FACIAL WASH (PHP 169.75), a non-abrasive refreshing cleanser that removes dirt and excess oil that leads to acne breakouts and VMV ID MONOLAURIN GEL (PHP 875.00), a powerful anti-bacterial gel derived from coconuts for multiple types of acne that can be used from head to toe.

Your skin during your teen years is often extremely oily and prone to breakouts. Blame it on the hormones as your body is going through a lot of changes during this time—so taking care of your skin is crucial, otherwise scars from acne can haunt you for the rest of your life. If your breakouts are cystic and angry, we recommend seeing a board-certified dermatologist. But for those plagued with the occasional spots.

20’s

Calyxta recommends: VMV ARMADA FACE COVER 30 (PHP 875.00-PHP 1,505.00), a powerful protection against indoor and outdoor rays, indoor lights, and heat sources. We love how it goes on clear without any greasy residue.

Your 20’s is when you need to begin investing in sunscreen to make sure your skin stays youthful longer. The sun is the number one cause of aging and by wearing sunscreen daily, you’re preventing fine lines and blemishes from showing up prematurely.

30’s

Calyxta recommends:  GLAMGLOW FLASHMUD (PHP3,300.00). GLAMGLOW’s revolutionary new brightening treatment is pretty amazing! Just a little is all you need to bring out youthful skin. We personally love using this the night before a photo shoot or big day.

Exfoliation is a big part of treatments in your 30’s to make sure that newer skin is given the chance to shine through.

40’s

Calyxta recommends: BLISS TRIPLE OXYGEN EYE CREAM
(PHP 2,750.00), a refreshing eye gel that gives a burst of oxygen to the skin cells—making tired eyes look bright, rested, and revitalized.

Fine lines around the eyes begin to creep up at this point in your
life, but that’s okay! A good eye cream should still be able to keep skin looking elastic and plump.
