Calyxta Crew Review: OFRA Liquid Lipstick in Manila

When OFRA came out with their newest Liquid Lipstick shade, which incidentally is named after a city very close to our hearts, the crew immediately took to testing and swatching the seemingly quintessential nude lippie to see how it looked on different Filipina skin tones. Here’s what they had to say:
Margaux, Art Director

“I like the texture as I do all OFRA lippies. The color surprised me at first when I applied it because it’s very pigmented and pale. But after I blended it out a bit at the outline of my lips, I liked it! A little goes a long way for this color on me.”

Marj, Trade Marketing Associate

“I’ve always liked the formulation of the OFRA Liquid Lipsticks because they don’t dry my lips out. I find Manila too light for my skin tone since I’m morena but I love mixing it with darker shades!”

Ming, Graphic Designer

“At first when I tried it on, it looked like a very light nude on me. But after a while, it oxidized and after a few minutes, it became a nice, wearable shade. And as usual, like all the other OFRA Liquid Lippies, they won’t budge and are hard to remove. You need a good oil-based makeup remover.”

Acha, Merchandising Manager
“I love the texture because it’s comfortable, but I found the shade a little light on me so if you find the shade too pale, it’s better to mix it with a darker lip liner or mix it on top of a darker lipstick shade.”
Gretchen, Managing Editor

“I’ve always been a fan of OFRA’s formulation, because it’s probably the most comfortable for me (it keeps my lips moisturized despite the matte finish). Manila was a nice, nude shade that oxidized after a few minutes so it looked like a warm, subtle brown that complements all kinds of makeup looks!”
