For morena skin, blush can be a deal breaker! The wrong shade of blush can look like a bruise or a rash. The trick to finding the most flattering blush for any skin tone is knowing your undertones.

Take this quick test to know if you have warm or cool undertones:

1. Look at the inside of your wrists, do you see:

A. More green veins

B. More blue veins

2. On your left wrist wear a gold bangle or bracelet, or swipe on some gold eyeshadow. On the right wrist do the same with a silver bangle or bracelet or some silver eyeshadow.

A. Love the gold accessories, makes my skin glow.

B. Silver all the way, it’s fresh.

3. Without any sunscreen, when outside your skin…

A. Becomes tan.

B. Burns.

RESULTS

If you answered all or mostly A’s = Warm

If you answered all or mostly B’s = Cool

For morenas with warm undertones, the most flattering shades of blush are:

Orange, coral, apricot, terracota, brick, amber, marsala, carrot, ruby or anything on the orange side that pops.

For morenas with cool undertones, the most flattering shades of blush are:

Fuschia, hot pink, magenta, honesuckle, watermelon or anything on the bright to neon pink that pops.

The key is choosing a color that pops. Morena skin shouldn’t stick to a safe shade of blush because morena skin has a tendency to eat up and overpower light-colored blushes. When all else fails, to put this theory to the test: take a selfie, do one with flash and another one without.
