Easy Makeup Tips for Girls with Glasses

There’s an old saying that goes, “Men don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses.” Clearly, that silly line existed in a time when women with glasses weren’t empowered by sass, class and fab makeup. With the stylish and affordable choices for frames available today, nerdy girls can have a few pairs to match their every mood or outfit. Making eyes pop out from behind the lenses is also just as fun. Here’s how:

Use eyeliner for definition. Prescription lenses can make eyes look smaller, so bust out the eyeliner to define eyes and make them stand out from behind your glasses.

Tap on the concealer, brush on the eyeshadow. It’s bad enough you have shadows from staying up too late reading that irresistable novel, but your frames can throw real shadows underneath eyes while the glass can magnify dark eyebags. A good concealer will solve all that! Plus, sweeping a light eyeshadow from lash line to brow bone or patting on a fun, bright color like pink, gold or electric blue on lids will bring out eyes from behind glasses instantly.

Try waterproof mascara. Girls with glasses don’t really like mascara because lengthened lashes brush against the lens and leave a smear, too. But nothing opens up eyes like lush lashes! So curl lashes up then use a waterproof mascara, which won’t smudge at all. Still, it’s best to wait for it to dry before putting on your glasses.

Define eyebrows. Just because they’re hidden by your frames doesn’t mean you should skip grooming your brows. Tweeze out stray hairs then define brows. Strong frames needs strong brows so that the face isn’t overpowered by your glasses.

Apply a bold lipstick. The easiest ever makeup look for girls with glasses doesn’t even involve her eyes! When you’re pressed for time, swipe on a bright pink, a deep plum, or a bold red on your lips. Your face will be balanced—glasses on top, colorful lips below—and you’ll still look so put together!
