5 Minute Face

By: Ixi Castillo

Waking up in the morning, the farthest thing from my mind is putting on make up. I’m either thinking of deadlines, call times, or going through my to-do list. Good thing it doesn’t have to take an entire hour to apply a basic face!

1. BB Cream

To cut your make up routine short, reach for a product that fulfils several needs in one go. Using a BB Cream gives you the benefits of skincare and the coverage you need in a foundation. With your finger, apply several dots on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Then even it out with your fingers, blending well and making sure that there are no lines of demarcation on the forehead and jaw area. Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturizer Broad Spectrum neutralizes skin imperfections and gives the skin a hint of glimmer leaving it radiant and luminous.

2. Extra coverage with concealer

With your ring finger, dab some concealer under the eye (to cover dark circles) and on other areas of the face that need some extra help. Make sure to use a gentle patting motion to blend the product into the skin. Eve Pearl Dual Salmon Concealer has two shades you can mix or use on their own for flawless coverage.

3. Set with Powder

Use a brush to seal your base with a lightweight powder so it doesn’t budge. Banila Co Prime Primer Finish Powder is a translucent powder that allows you to set crème concealers and foundations without caking. It also dries matte and reduces oiliness.

4. Volumize those lashes

A little trick to make your eyes bigger and brighter is curling your lashes and applying a generous amount of mascara. Maybelline Mascara Volume Express Magnum Black kicks your lashes up a notch by making them look extra lush. The best part is it’s stays all day – no smudging or clumping.

5. Groom those brows

Enhance your brows by lightly filling in the sparse areas and defining the shape. If you already have full brows, you may use a brow mascara to groom the hairs. L’Oreal Paris Brow Artist Chisel is a great two-in-one product that fills in the brows then brushes the hair neatly in place with a little tint.

6. Blusher or Bronzer

Sweep some blusher or bronzer on the apples of your cheeks and the bridge of your nose to give your skin a healthy color. Girlactik blush in Madrid gives you that natural, just worked-out glow.

7. Lipcolor

Finish by applying a lipstick or lip tint to define those puckers. You can be playful and choose a color that represents your mood, or be conservative and choose a neutral shade that is slightly darker than your natural lip color such as Ofra’s Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Bel Air or Laguna Beach.
