Maracuja Oil: A multi-tasker.

By: Amanda Padilla

We’ve all heard of argan oil and virgin coconut oil and all the great benefits that come from using them. Meet the new-kid-on-the-block in treatment oils: Maracuja Oil. Made from passion fruit seeds, this vegan, gluten-free, cold-pressed oil is paraben and sulfate-free. If you are the type of person who likes to know exactly what goes into the products you are using then this is a good choice for you. Pure Maracuja oil has only one ingredient in it. How many other products can we say that about?

Maracuja oil is an all-natural beauty product that is packed with anti-oxidants such as vitamin C. This makes it an powerful anti-aging serum because of its ability to fight sun damage and reverse the first signs of aging. It is also loaded with fatty acids which make your hair and skin look and feel healthier. Both immediately feel smoother after use, and the texture continues to improve as you use it. What sets Maracuja oil apart from other oil are the benefits that it gives your hair as well. It is effective in restoring the condition of extremely dry and damaged hair.

How to Use Maracuja Oil:

  • Use it as an at-home hair treatment by applying a generous amount of it on clean, damp hair.
  • Wrap your hair with cling wrap then leave it on for at least an hour.
  • For hair that is extremely damaged, I would try leaving it in over night.
  • Finish off by wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. Do this a couple of times a week until your hair feel like it is restored to its old self.

You will notice that your hair look shinier, feel softer and is a lot more manageable. My favorite benefit is that when applied directly on your scalp it actually stimulates hair growth. You could also use it as a leave-on conditioner by adding a few drops of it on your hair straight out of the shower. Aging starts the minute we are conceived and released from our mother’s wombs. In Japan & Korea, women begin to use night cream at the age of 18. It’s no secret that Japanese & Korean women have some, if not, the best skin in the world.
