Basic Hair Tools and Accessories

Standing in the hair care section of the grocery can be overwhelming. There is an ocean of shampoos, conditioners, serums, mousses and gels. Not to mention all the tools needed. Picking the right product for you can be daunting. Let me help break it down for you. Its time to get your hair to look its best by knowing what tools and products will get it there.

Everyone needs:

A Boar Hair Brush. The highest quality brush – it tames hair while being gentle on it. Other brushes can cause damage and breakage to the hair. It also help hair become healthier by allowing the natural oils from the scalp to travel to the roots.  

Shampoo and Conditioner. Use the right products for your hair type. Read the label and make sure that the product addresses you specific concerns.  

A Good Blow Drier. This is something that everyone needs to invest in. Don’t scrimp on a cheap tool, get a professional use drier.  

A Curling Iron and/or Flat Iron. Both can be used on any hair type. Curling iron helps define waves on curly hair and adds volume to straight limp hair. A flat iron help tame hair and makes it look sleek. It takes your styling to the next level.  

Velcro Rollers. Adds volume to limp hair and creates definition for way hair.

 

Fine, Straight Hair:

Use Volumizing products like volumizing spray at the roots of your hair before styling.  

Curly, Wavy Hair:

Use a leave-in conditioner to add extra hydration needed by everyone with wavy hair. Use volumizing mousse to tame curls while adding lift to the hair. Use a paddle brush to dry hair when you want it to look straight and smooth.  

Thick, Curly Hair:

Use a curl cream to help define your curls. Dry hair using a diffuser which takes frizz out of the hair and cuts your drying time.
