How to Become a Professional Make Up Artist Workshop Recap

Last May 13 Calyxta partnered with the School of Fashion and the Arts Design Institute (SOFA) for the “How to Become A Professional Make Up Artist” workshop. Thirteen students signed up to learn the secrets and tips our Beauty Experts Amanda Padilla and Xeng Zulueta have gathered in their years of experience in the beauty industry.

Amanda talked about the pros and cons of attending a formal beauty school, becoming a professional MUA’s apprentice and joining a brand in jump starting one’s career as a make up artist.

Xeng, on the other hand, gave the students a seven-step career plan that every aspiring MUA should go through to become successful in the said industry.

Both MUAs shared their journey from being an aspiring makeup artist and all the hurdles they went through to get to where they are now- At East Jed Root, an established agency that represents MUAs.
