Women and brunch are quite the clichéd combination, popularly portrayed in media as a time where ladies gather to gossip and giggle over food and mimosas. Last Saturday, September 14th, Chicdriven took brunch to a different level as they gathered a group of dynamic and media-savvy women from all over the Metro to meet at Locavore in Bonifacio Global City. Joining the guests over coffee and Filipino breakfast fare were Chicdriven founders Issa Litton and Jeanette Tuason, as well as special guests Michelle Yu, representative of Zonta Club Alabang, and Kamille Rose Soler, founder and CEO of Ultimate LYFE.

During her short talk, Kamille Rose Soler, who is also a leadership mindset coach and inspirational speaker, made all guests take a moment to express self-love by uttering “I love me” out loud. As Chicdriven’s central message is to encourage women to never limit themselves and to never stop working to ‘have it all,’ she stressed the importance of self-love to achieve things. “Self-love is a true belief in what you are made of,” Kamille shared. “Because in all of the research that I’ve done about human peak performance, with every entrepreneur I’ve worked with, at the end of the day, the difference between success and failure was the person who chose love over fear.”

The next and final leg of the Chicdriven Expo will be on October 1 and 2 at the Alabang Town Center. In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness month, there will be free breast screenings care of Zonta Club Alabang, a club dedicated to the uplifting and empowerment of women, and the Muntinlupa Gender and Development Office. Michelle Yu shared that only a tiny percentage of women are aware that breast check ups should be done on a monthly basis so, with the Chicdriven Expo, they strive to build more awareness with the Filipino public.
There will also be free seminars on relevant topics such as health and beauty, self-love with Gretchen Ho, Joyce Pring and Marianne Mencius, parenting, home improvement and hacks, financial wellness, and road safety. Calyxta’s very own Margaux Cortez will be speaking on maintaining your best and beautiful self while juggling the many aspects of a career-driven life.
