Real Bride: Nikki Nanquil-Lacsamana

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

I am the youngest and the only girl in the family. In October 2005, I joined HSBC-HDPP as a Recruitment Specialist, then I transferred to Cebu Pacific Air as a Cabin Crew in August 2009. By May 2012, I found my way back to the banking industry. I stayed with East West Bank for four and a half years, and last December 2017 – it was my 1st year anniversary with China Bank Corp.

Where was your wedding held and what made you decide to choose the location?

The wedding ceremony was at St. James the Great Parish in Ayala Alabang Village Muntinlupa – it was so convenient for everyone! We had our reception at The Palms Country Club because their food was just simply awesome!

What’s the inspiration behind your wedding look?

My husband and I opted for the classic black and white wedding theme.

Who designed your gown, and how did you come up with the style? How long did it take to create or find the perfect wedding dress?

My fairy godmother, Mrs. Curitthy Manzanero-Villanueva of Curitthycouture. I just showed her one photo, and she knew right away what dress will make me look pretty on my wedding day.

How did you choose your hair and makeup artist? Did you have any hair and makeup pegs?

My hair and makeup artist was recommended by my good friend, Curitthy Manzanero-Villanueva. Never regretted believing her.

What lip colour did you choose for the wedding day?

My HMUA and I opted for a nude shade to stay classy and simple.

What was in your wedding day makeup kit/pouch?

My lippie and perfume!

What were the preparations you did for your skin prior to the wedding day? Did you go to a skincare centre regularly?

I made sure I had enough sleep, drank lots of water, and used Jeju Aloe by Face Shop to keep my face hydrated all day long.

What was the best beauty advice you received that helped you prepare for your wedding?

Just make sure you get to have enough sleep every night and don’t go to the derma! Haha!

How about in terms of fitness? What did you do months before the wedding to stay in shape and make sure your wedding dress fit perfectly? Did you enrol on a gym or fitness centre? What was your diet like?

None at all!

“I made sure I had enough sleep, and drank lots of water.”

Did you have your nails done? If so, where? Would you recommend this nail salon to others?

I had my nails done at California Advanced Nails and Skin Care (CANS) in Alabang Town Center. Yes, I would definitely recommend them! Look for Pepper and Thyme in case you’re planning a visit.

What was your biggest takeaway from your wedding day? Do you have any beauty-related tips you’d like to share to upcoming brides?

My biggest take-away would be to assign a family member or a close friend to be on top of everything, even if you already have an on-the-day wedding coordinator.
