Real Bride: Niña Tanchanco-Cuenca

What was in your wedding day makeup kit/pouch?

Haha. I didn’t have a bag. I relied on my husband’s suit pocket to carry my phone and face tissue.

What were the preparations you did for your skin prior to the wedding day? Did you go to a skincare center regularly? What kind of services did you have done? Is this something you would recommend to other brides-to-be?

I did try a few sessions of injectable vitamins and whitening solutions to make my skin radiant. A bit pricey, but no other occasion perfect for it than your wedding day.

What was the best beauty advice you received that helped you prepare for your wedding?

To keep calm and let go of things that you can’t control and to enjoy every moment and every detail because it’s gone in a blink of an eye.

“To keep calm and  let go of things that you can’t control.”

What’s the inspiration behind your wedding look? Did you have any hair and makeup pegs?

Since I love desserts so much, I chose a Chocolate, Strawberries, and Champagne theme. It was beautifully executed by my florist and stylist, Pat Pastelero-Tañedo of Spruce Floral Designs. Baba Ibazeta-Benedicto provided the decadent treats.

Who designed your wedding gown, and how did you come up with the style? How long did it take to create or find the perfect wedding dress?

Ivarluski Aseron designed my gown. I wanted a simple, classic dress. No frills, just a few feminine details. His first sketch already got my approval.

How did you choose your hair and makeup artist?

My makeup artist is one of my best friends, who knew my face like the back of her hand.

What lip color did you choose for the wedding day?

I just wanted a natural, dewy look, so color choices stemmed from there.

How about in terms of fitness? What did you do months before the wedding to stay in shape and make sure your wedding dress fit perfectly? Did you enroll in a gym or fitness center? What was your diet like?

I think all brides naturally lose weight in time for their wedding day. Don’t you think so?

Did you have your nails done? If so, where? Would you recommend this nail salon to others?

Yes, just a simple sheer polish at a nail salon. I wish they had nail gel polish that time.

What was your biggest takeaway from your wedding day? Do you have any beauty-related tips you’d like to share to upcoming brides?

Cheesy as it may sound, but the glow you get on your wedding day is really from being a happy bride. If you stress over all the small details because you want a perfect wedding, it will show. Just relax and with proper planning, everything will just fall into place!
