As a make up artist, I’ve talked to a lot of brides and I know all about their beauty concerns for their wedding day. As the day draws closer, they all tend to lose a little sleep over this small but terrifying nightmare: getting a pimple. Don’t worry, brides, there is a solution for that. If the worst does happen (knock on wood), you could go to a dermatologist and get a cortisone shot. This flattens the zit out almost instantly. Your make up artist can also conceal any redness making it virtually invisible.

Being religious about your skincare regimen for at least 6 months is the best way to ensure that your skin is in top shape on the day of your wedding. Stick to this program and you will have no need to stay up at night worrying about breakouts.

1. Use a skincare system that is suited for your skin type. Find a cleanser, serum and moisturizer that make your skin feel supple after you use it, one that does not make your skin feel tight or greasy.

2. Stop tanning. Avoid staying under the sun so your skin tone is even on your wedding day. The last thing you need is to have peeling and blotchy skin when you get married. If you want to look sun-kissed, opt to get a spray tan. Also, make a daily habit of using SPF on your skin.

3. Incorporate weekly home skincare treatments to your skincare routine. Use a clay mask to draw impurities out of your skin. A cotton facial mask made for your specific skin concerns is a great way to instantly soothe skin. Use a gentle face scrub on your face all the way down to your neck to slough off any dead skin cells in that area.

4. Have a professionally done facial at least once a month. Getting your face massaged is a great way to increase blood circulation making your skin look young and healthy. Talk to the facialist about your specific concerns and listen to their recommendations. Microdermabrasion treatments might be something you want to do if large pores are a concern.

5. I know you’ve heard this probably a thousand times but allow me to say it again: drink lots of water. Skin looks best when it’s well hydrated.

There is no product to show
