Product Review: L’Oreal True Match Foundation

By: Xeng Zulueta

The pros

Blendable lightweight liquid formula

SPF 17

20 true to skin shades to choose from

Adjustable from light to medium coverage

Silky texture with natural matte finish

The cons

Not enough coverage for those with flaws or blemishes.

You will need to set w a powder for it to become long-wearing during warmer months or warm weather.

Not for people with oily skin.

Won’t suffice as concealer for dark under eyes.

You’ll need two shades, one light and one dark as seasons change.

The pros still outweigh the cons of this product. Let’s just say that this foundation can be for everybody if minor adjustments can be made. Overall, it boasts a range of 20 true to skin shades that covers all undertones. I for one though, am not a fan of liquid foundation. For the simple reason that I have oily skin and liquid formulas tend to “slip” or “melt” as the day goes by. Another reason is that it can be quite messy and hard to retouch throughout the day. This product however, is great for those with normal to dry skin and cooler climates. A bonus is that it contains spf so you don’t have to layer another product.
