Celebrity guest and bride-to-be, Maxene Magalona, joined the launch for a quick Q&A as she talked about all things wedding. Get some wedding inspiration from Maxene herself as she shares how all the wedding planning is going for her and fiancé, Rob Mananquil.

Every bride has this picture in their head of what the wedding’s going to look like. How do you envision your wedding?

We’ve only just started planning, but we have a lot of ideas. Both of us come from the world of art – he’s a musician and an artist, and I’m an actress. We’ve watched so many movies, we’ve seen so many different weddings – ang dami naming nakikitang ideas we hope to put together. But for now, we don’t have a theme yet.

So far, what is the hardest part in planning a wedding?

Putting ideas together definitely is very hard. That’s why I have so much respect for all the wedding professionals, everyone who is part of this industry – they have a talent for looking at things from a bigger perspective. They can envision the whole wedding.

As I get stressed while we plan this wedding, Rob just knows what to say and when to say it – to calm me down, to assure me that I have nothing to worry about. I look at it, and I find it great to realize how this wedding preparation definitely prepares us for marriage.

What is Robby’s participation in your wedding planning?

When we got engaged, we really said that we would make this a special day of ours, like our own labor of our love, and we’re going to do it as a team. So, if it isn’t obvious yet, he’s very hands on, which I’m grateful for because I really can’t do all these on my own. I’m happy that my fiancé is very on board. I’m sure all the other grooms have input, but me and Rob decided to do it 50-50. In the end, the most important part is that we both feel good about our decisions for our wedding.

That’s so wonderful. And you’re lucky! Not all grooms are that participative. How do you think BG Bridal Gallery can help you with your wedding?

Even if my fiancé is very involved and hands on, we still can’t do it by ourselves and we still need help – and the Bridal Gallery app is doing that for us because everything is already in one app. It’s so easy that it’s all in your phone right now. Like when something sparks an idea, you save it. It’s so helpful because there are so many ideas, there are even promos that will give you discounts, stuff like that. I would have to say that Bridal Gallery is every bride and groom’s best friend, definitely.

Are you going for a certain bridal look?

I want to look like Hello Kitty [laughs]! I think what I really want, what I envisioned is something very fresh and light. Through the years, you get to find out what suits you the best, and for me that’s the fresh and light, something like the “no makeup look.” And that’s one of the toughest to do, ha. But of course, I will look for pegs in the Bridal Gallery App because I’m sure there are a lot of looks that I can check out.

Do you plan to wear your hair up or hair down?

With makeup, it’s so easy to really think of what you really want. But with hair, I haven’t really thought of that yet. I was thinking for the ceremony, it’s a different look, then for the reception, it’s another one. That’s one of the things about weddings – you’re actually going to want to doll up on that day. Sabi nga ni Rob sakin, in the years to come, all the we have left of the wedding are the photos. And the memories, of course. But the photos, so whatever you look like on your wedding day, you should be happy with that look.
