Best Hairstyles for the Rainy Season

By Cat Juan Ledesma

Rainy season often finds our hair not cooperating the way it did during the dry summer months. Here are some ways you can make the humid, damp weather work for you.

Work with waves: The humid weather will often have our hair drying with a bit of frizz or waves. It’s time to pull out your curling iron to give your hair some well-shaped waves. Save the straight styles for summer.

Put it up: Our muggy rainy weather often has us feeling sticky. Time to play with high or low buns to stay cool. You can accentuate with clips or flowers. The best part is that this style will also last you from day to night.

Play with Head Scarves: Scarves are such great accessories during the rainy months. They can keep you warm, can be used to keep your hair dry and can also serve as an accent to your outfit. With so many styles available, it’s hard to go wrong. We recommend going for a light fabric and choosing a size of around 22 x 22 inches.

Braid it up: Braids are a great way to add some texture to your look. The best part is that they can be kept on for the day and let loose for some waves at night.

Pony Tails: These don’t have to be simple. Play with the twists, clips, and headbands to give your childhood ponytails a fresher more mature look.
