That’s exactly what Local Edition, a small neighborhood cafe along Perea Street in Legazpi Village, provided for us—a charming space designed to inspire and create. “Great ideas often begin with one cup,” the founders of the café believe. It was founded by two college friends with a passion for local coffee, and who had the idea of having a space where individuals can gather, be inspired, and create. And apart from offering one of the best flat whites I’ve ever had, not to mention delectable food and pastries (their Gooey Grilled Cheese Sandwich is my favorite!), their store also serves as a platform for brands, designers, and artists who share their vision. Drop by Local Edition every two months, and you’ll see a different collaborator showcasing their work to send a moving and timely message every time.
It’s become an annual tradition for the Calyxta Crew to hold our brainstorming sessions outside our headquarters. With the change of environment, this has been a productive way for us to let the creative juices flow—making it easier to throw ideas around and discuss our plans for the following quarter or year. Add good food and a whole lot of caffeine into the picture, and you’ll definitely have a bunch of hyperactive girls working together in conceptualizing a year’s worth of content and campaigns.
